damage to persons or property whilst using our equipment and/or any
unsafe practises & dangerous behaviour. The unit should not be hired
by yourself under any circumstances unless adequate supervision is
provided & the following rules are adhered to at all times.
Generic Rules – Applies to ALL equipment
|
1 |
All our inflatables are designed for use
by children of up to 65kgs and should not be used by
children over the age of 14 (Not applicable to our range of
adult castles) |
|
2 |
No food drinks or chewing gum to be
allowed on or near the Inflatable. This will avoid choking
and any unnecessary cleaning charges. |
|
3 |
All shoes, glasses, jewellery, badges
must be removed before using Inflatables. |
|
4 |
No face paints, party poppers, coloured
streamers or silly string to be used either on or near the
Inflatable. Failure to adhere may result in a cleaning
charge of £20.00 |
|
5 |
No smoking or barbecues near Inflatables
at any time. |
|
6 |
Climbing, hanging or sitting on walls is
dangerous and must not be allowed at any time, some of our
inflatables are designed to have low walls for supervision
purposes, on these types of inflatables this rule is
exceptionally important, especially when the castle is
erected on hard surfaces. |
|
7 |
Two responsible adults must supervise the
Inflatable at all times, If not adhered to and in the event
an accident does occur you may be liable under your own
insurance. |
|
8 |
Always ensure that the Inflatable is not
overcrowded, and limit numbers according to the age, size
and stature of children using it. Try to avoid large and
small children from using it at the same time as this can
only lead to accidents, For further information or
supervision advise visit our Health & Safety pages at
www.bouncingsmiles.co.uk . |
|
9 |
Ensure that children are not pushing,
colliding, fighting or behaving in a manner likely to injure
or cause distress to others. |
|
10 |
No pets, toys or sharp instruments are
allowed on or near the Inflatable under any circumstances. |
|
11 |
Do not allow anyone to be on the
Inflatable during inflation or deflation as this can be
extremely dangerous. |
|
12 |
If the Inflatable is not being used for
any part of the day or adequate supervision is not
available, please ensure that all children are well away
from the castle and that the fan is switched off at the
mains, never walk away from a bouncy castle until it has
fully deflated as small children can be caught up inside,
this can lead to suffocation. |
|
13 |
Do not allow anyone to bounce on the
front safety step as a child could easily bounce off the
inflatable and get hurt. The step is there to assist users
in getting on or off only. This rule is the most common rule
to be broken and is potentially the most dangerous to be
ignored, please be aware of this when supervising. |
|
14 |
Ensure that no one with a history of back
or neck problems or who suffers from a heart complaint uses
the Inflatable or anyone who is feeling unwell or suffering
the effects of alcohol or drugs & Pregnant women may not use
any equipment at anytime, In the event that someone is
injured, Remove all other children from the unit as safely &
as smoothly as possible and DO NOT move the individual,
leave the inflatable switched on and dial 999 immediately
for advise. |
|
15 |
Ensure that Children are not attempting
somersaults and are clothed appropriately, i.e., No sharp
zips or shoes, please ensure that all items are removed from
pockets prior to bouncing as sharp objects can pierce the
inflatable and cause injury to a child. |
|
16 |
Ensure that an area of 6 feet (2 meters)
around the unit is completely clear and ensure the area in
which the castle is to be erected is completely swept of
debris & that all washing lines, children’s toys and
especially Dog droppings, before our arrival. |
|
17 |
The Inflatable should not be used if it
becomes wet on the jumping area. If no shower cover is
fitted, and, in the event of rain, the unit should not be
used. |
|
18 |
In the event of heavy rain, it is
strongly recommended that the Inflatable be switched off.
Any wetness, including bubbling (which is normal) can be
dried with a towel. |
|
19 |
In the event that the fan stops working,
ensure all users get off the inflatable immediately to avoid
suffocation. The most common faults are the fan tipping over
or the air vents becoming obstructed by leafs, debris &
carrier bags etc, if this is the case, then please remove
the obstruction. If the problem persists, then please call
us immediately. |
|
20 |
In the extremely rare event that the fan
overheats, or loses power, switch the it off at the mains,
then switch it back on again 5 minutes later, and it should
restart. If it does not, check the power supply as in
paragraph 19, if this fails then please contact us
immediately and do not attempt to fix any electrical faults
yourself. |
|
21 |
Never use this unit without proper
anchorage in place, It may be blown over in certain wind
conditions, If the inflatable unit is not anchored correctly
please ensure you tell the erection team before they leave
as we keep a tight schedule and may not be able to return
immediately. Sandbags or pegs are both adequate for securing
inflatables. |
|
22 |
And finally can anyone hiring units Adult
occasions please be made aware that these castles are often
let out to children immediately after collection from your
venue, it would therefore be appreciated if you could not
drink alcohol or smoke on or near the unit & ensure that the
equipment is returned in the condition it was delivered. |

circumstances, small children may struggle to climb or

provide adequate supervision to the rear. |

|
30 |
Where slides are present Rules 23, 24 &
25 must be adhered to at all times. |
No Adults Please
It is with regret that due to recent Health &
Safety incidents we are having to include this notice within all its
hire agreements.
We take great pride in our safety standards and
will not allow them to be compromised in any way.
All inflatable
equipment has an age limit for use, this is stated on your copy of
the hire agreement and operating instructions. This limit is due to
the manufacturing process, and if adults are allowed to use such
equipment, their weight and size will compromise the safety of the
inflatable.
Unfortunately it is becoming all to common that
adults are still jumping on inflatables whilst they are in the care
of the hirer, thus making the possibility of the inflatable being
unsafe for the next hirer, I am sure that you would not wish us to
supply you with an unsafe castle for your children's party. With
that in mind the next hirer deserves the same safety standards as
you would expect. We do however realize that an adult may from time
to time need to access the inflatable to deal with younger children,
please keep this it to a minimum and spread your weight across the
inflatable as much as possible.
All our inflatables are put through a rigorous safety test at regular intervals, but if it is found that adults have used the inflatable, then it must be retested to ensure that it is safe for the next person to hire for their children. Therefore if it is found that adults have used the inflatable whilst it is in your care there will be an initial charge of £60 to have the inflatable retested, and you will be liable for the full cost of any repairs required due to the misuse and any loss of business whilst the inflatable is out of use. Remember, this section has been added with your safeguard in mind and abuse of such guidance will invalidate any insurance you may have.
